Our story
Sport on
good courts.
With direct
impact.
We want more focus on sport in Rotterdam South, starting with padel. Padel is a great sport, and in Rotterdam every court is always full. We wanted to do something about that.
Chapter 01
Padel in
Rotterdam is full.
Anyone who has tried to book padel in Rotterdam over the last few years knows the drill: time-slots are scarce, the popular hours are booked weeks ahead, and when you do find a spot, you often pay more than you should. Padel is a great sport, but the existing halls can't keep up with demand.
Meanwhile the sport keeps growing. Friends want to play together, colleagues want a fixed weekly slot, families want something active on Sunday. There just isn't enough room for all of them. Rotterdam simply needs more courts.
Chapter 02
The warehouse
next door.
Right next to the Current Werkt warehouse in Rotterdam South, a second warehouse came up for grabs. A raw space with high ceilings, concrete and daylight. Ideal for a sports hall that goes beyond just padel.
We took it on and started with two tight indoor padel courts. Hyrox, indoor football, a regular gym and a women-only gym are coming to the same location next. One place where you can play, eat, meet and keep going. Good courts, good equipment, good rates.
Chapter 03
Playing here
pays it forward.
When you book a court here, you get fair quality at a fair price. And the proceeds go somewhere specific: not to a faraway head office, but back into our own organisations — Current Werkt and BraveBurgerzz, both based in Rotterdam South.
There, we build real jobs with real guidance for people who don't easily find work elsewhere — in hospitality and on the workfloor. Not charity. Just work that creates perspective. By playing padel at RC Padel, you co-finance that work. Directly, concretely, no detour.
So: you play on a good court at a good price, and at the same time you contribute to social impact in the same neighbourhood where you play. Two things at once, one booking.
Chapter 04
What's
coming next.
Padel is the first discipline. The same location will see Hyrox, indoor football, a regular gym and a women-only gym. All from the same idea: more room for people to play sports in Rotterdam South, at a place that earns its keep for a good cause.
We build slowly and in phases. Better to open one thing well than four things in a hurry. Want to hear when a sport opens? Drop your email on the relevant sport page.
Want to
play?
The easiest way to contribute is simply to book a court. Four people, one hour, a drink afterwards. That's what keeps this place running.
